Pigeon Rescue Center

If you know AJ and ME you know we both have a abnormal passion for animals. It was always there but seems to have gotten more intense since our nest emptied of Kids. Quite a few little animals have chosen us to be their caretakers over the past 30 something years. We have sheltered Spiders in jars, nursed to health Wild Baby Birds that fell out of nests, watched Caterpillar metamorphosis in a jar, helped a stray Feral Mama Cat give birth to a litter of Kittens, purchased 3 Boxer Dogs, purchased a Mini Aussie that I think maybe came from a Puppy Mill, purchased a Persian Kitty that was the Runt of the litter and no one wanted, found 4 two month old puppies some just dumped...found homes for 2 and kept 2, took 3 stray Kittys off the streets and gave them homes and took in a dog that a neighbor abandoned and left behind when they moved. We have caught in our back yard,Raccoons and Opossums in live traps and taken them to the wood and set free.
And of course I can not forget my Red Eared Slider Turtle that lives in our Family area in a 15 Gallon aquarium and really is needing a bigger one.
Of course you all know AJ raises Pigeons. At one time AJ had at least 100 birds and now I am sure there are more. He has, number of times, said he has to thin some of the birds out. He would be willing to give away some of the birds if, someone wanted to start raising them also. He does not have the heart to just let some of them just fly away....hawks would for sure get them. Well the other morning AJ gets this phone call from a Pigeon Guy and told ME this Guy was coming by the house. My assumption was this Guy was going to take some of AJ's birds. WRONG! This Guy was getting out of raising birds and he was bringing some of his to AJ. AJ would rather take the 4 birds then to see them destroyed. I laughed and said we now were a "Pigeon Rescue Center"!

AJ puts in alot of time tending to the birds. He is out there feeding, watering and cleaning lofts in the Hot Summmer or the Freezing Winter.

He has been rewarded for his effort and won Blue Ribbons.

I was on Face Book and this had been posted. When I saw it it made ME think of AJ and ME. I know there are people out in this world that have done so much more to help Little Critters then AJ & ME have, but if everyone would do just what we have done or even less, it would help.

Just click on the site below and watch a very Sweet Video. Hope you enjoy it!
