Star Light <> Star Night

Edgar said the first couple to get up and Swing Dance got a free CD.
A Daddy and his Daughter sprang from their seats to the front.
They were really Good! and they got their free CD plus alot of applause!
~~~
~~~
~~~
One of Oklahoma's very recognizable Faces enjoyed the evening.
Doug (Coach) Sauder of the OKC Blazers sat behind us. Next to him is the Owner of the
Town's Newspaper and his Wife.
Edgar had a table set up where you could purchase CDs and T-Shirts.
He gladly signed them all.
~~~
~~~
~~~

Madison got a signed T-shirt. We have taken Madison to see Edgar about 4 times.
His music is so intrancing it even keeps the young ones entertained.
~~~
~~~
~~~
We invited Special Guests to join us. Sherman and Winnie Andrus.
Winnie has a Grandaughter Madison's age, so they bonded quickly.
~~~
~~~
~~~

After the show it's hard to just say "Good-bye".
~~~
~~~
~~~
This is a delightful Couple. AJ and Sherman have become good friends.
I am hoping to get to know Winnie better. One thing, she says she likes
to Thrift Store Shop! Now that's my kind of Gal!
YAP!!! We had fun!
Fellowship is so good for the Soul.
Thursday night, Feb. 26-09 AJ, ME and Company went to see Edgar Cruz. Edgar is dynamite on the guitar! I do not even begin to know how or to explain his how he gets the sounds. His music sounds like an entire band and it comes from a single guitar. He plays such an array of music everone is entertained. He will play Latin, Rock, Jazz, Country, Big Band and etc. Songs like Bohemian Rhapsody, Dueling Banjos, Unchained Melody, In the Mood and Oklahoma just make you want to sing along or clap to the rhythm. Edgar does 200 Live Apperances a year. He has recieved by the Oklahoma Gazette "Best Performing Artist" 5 times out of the past 10 years.
We have seen Edgar perform before and this time we took Sherman and Winnie Andrus. They had never seen him play. They were very pleased with the evening. Before the show started they served "All You Can Eat Chips and Salsa". At intermission you could go get more!
Last night was such a nice evening that I wish all my Family could have shared it with
AJ and ME.
Birthday "ROCKS"
Webster Dictionary: kleptomaniac= a person with a persistent neurotic impulse to steal
~~~
~~~
~~~
Every year on my Birthday, Feb. 14th, I celebrate my Day at "The Red Lobster". I have been doing this for a very long time and have only missed a couple of Birthdays because of bad weather or someone ill. I always get the same thing "Snowcrab Legs". First comes the Cheesey Biscuits. Oh my they are goooood! Then the Salad of cold crispy lettuce with all the trimmings and Creamy Ranch Dressing. Then here comes the Platter of 1 Pound of Crab Legs and a Baked Potato. There is melted butter for the Legs and whipped butter for the Baker. Of course by then we need a couple more baskets of the Biscuits.
Then the fun begins! You have to crack the Legs to get the Sweet Meat out. That is half the fun! The meat is then dipped into the melted butter.
This is sooo gooood!
This meal happens usually only once a year on my Birthday! To remind me of the Great Meal and the Loved Ones that help me celebrate, as I leave I "STEAL" a rock.
Red Lobster has a Rock Garden all around their building. I look the Rocks over as I enter, pick one out and snatch it as I leave. I can't help myself!
If you have been at my house you have seen as you enter the front door, in the flower bed, there is this assortment of rocks. Yes, these are my Birthday Rocks.
Please Please do not tell Red Lobster, I would hate to give up my once a year Crab Legs.

The Many Faces of Madison

Madison was given to ME at 3 months. For 8 to 10 hours a day, Monday through Friday. While Mom and Dad worked she was "All Mine". The Bond that has developed over the past almost 9 years is a strong one. I am Her Mimi. If asked if I am Her Grandma she gives a BIG NO "That's my Mimi". "Mimi" the name, is only shared with my Baby Boy Ryan. The rest of the Grandbabies call ME Grandma or Grams, which is fine.
~~~
~~~
~~~
This past February Mat and Dad went to the "Daddy-Daughter Dance" which they have gone to every year since she was 2 years old. Her Great Grandmother dug this fur cape out of storage. It belonged to Mat's Great-Great Aunt Cora who passed away 8 years ago. Who knows how old this wrap is??? She just had to wear it to the Dance. Oh My!!!!
This is at last summers Vacation Bible School. As you can see she is not yet into Boys.
Good, that will come soon enough!
~~~
~~~
~~~

Ever since Mat could talk she has said "When I grow-up I want to be a Puppy and Kitty Doctor".
I sure hope she stays with it when she is grown.
~~~
~~~
~~~
This is Mat and Eddy. This precious Boston Puppy belongs to my Baby Boy Ryan. He brought it down to visit one week-end. We all fell in Love with Eddy.
~~~
~~~
~~~

This is Madison's "Gypsy" phase.
~~~
~~~
~~~
She would have gone to school looking like this if Mom would have let her.
She does do a pretty good job of Reading Palms. Everyone is "Living a long life and is going to have lots of money!"
~~~
~~~
~~~

This was Halloween.
~~~
~~~
~~~
If you can't tell, she is a Japanese Girl.
This was put together by STUFF purchased at Yard Sales and Thrift Stores.
~~~
~~~
~~~

This is Madison's "Rock Star" phase.
~~~
~~~
~~~
Give a Little Girl a Curly Wig, Sun Glasses and Mimi long 1/2 slip and you have a Rock Star.
Watch out Hanna Montana.
~~~
~~~
~~~
I know the day is coming when Madison no longer dreams of becoming a Vet, but goes to collage and becomes one. I know the day is coming when she no longer pulls away from boys, but likes their attention. I know the day is coming when her fancy dress is a Wedding Dress and no longer does she dance with Dad but with a Husband. I know the day is coming when the Kitty and Puppy she holds turns into Her own Babies.
But for now I am just going to enjoy this Little Girl.

I will tell you who it's NOT!
It is not:
Jeff & Lassie or it is not Timmy & Lassie
not - Rusty & Rin Tin Tin
not - Travis & Old Yeller
not - Turner & Hooch
not - Lady & The Tramp
not - Clifford the Big Red Dog & Emily Elizabeth
not - Scooby-Doo & Shaggy
or not - Mickey & Pluto.
~
It is "Wade Aaron & Andy"
!!!!
If you guessed correctly, before you read the answer, you win an
"All Expense Paid Trip to Crescent America"

This Little Boy still has a Black & White Dog, in fact he has 3.

Date Night

Last week AJ & ME went to the Movies. We saw "Taken" staring Liam Neeson. This was an Action-Thriller Rated PG13 and it was good. I rate this as a "Never Dosing Off" Movie. It was about a retired Spy whoes 17 year old Daughter gets kidnaped in Paris and is Taken into the Slave Trade. These girls are kept druged and sold in auctions, like animals, to the highest bidder. He goes after these Bad Guys trying to find her. Of course it was a little far-fetched when you see how many fights he was in, guns shot at him and he dodges ever bullet and car chases and this man was never hurt. He just keeps going, kind of like the Energizer Bunny. I only go to PG- 13 movies, I do not like Blood & Guts! When it comes to Friday the 13th, Prom Night, Saw III and Etc. you will have to ask my 17 year old Grandaughter Cass. When it comes to Hotel for Dogs, Pink Panther, Coraline, Mall Cop and Etc. you will have to ask my 8 1/2 year old Grandaughter Madison (and Her Daddy). When it comes to Barney, Tel-A- Tubbies, Care Bears and Etc. you will have to ask my 2 year old Grandson Ryan.

1 Year Old

2 Years Old

4 Years Old

I was Born on Valentine's Day. I have always loved being born on this day. Being born on a Holiday just makes a Birthday Special. I really never got Valentine Presents they were called Birthday Presents. But it was a small price to pay for being born on "The Day of Love".

Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Storm? ME

This is hard solid ice.
~~~
~~~
~~~
I feel sorry for any out side Animal that might have been hit with one of these.
~~~
~~~
~~~

Some were smooth and some very bumpy.
~~~
~~~
~~~
Pea size.
~~~
~~~
~~~

You can not see it but my windshield is cracked by the Large Hail.
Also Cass's windshield is cracked.
~~~
~~~
~~~
There was so much rain the water was over the curb. My road looked like a small river.
~~~
~~~
~~~
About 2:15 PM my Mom Called Me and ask if I was wathching the weather. I said no the TV was off. She said we could possibly have a Tornado. I said "Mom this is Febuary, we will not have a tornado". I then turn on the TV to see what she was reacting to. At that time Gary England said "People in Yukon take your Tornado Precautions, get to shelter". The phone rings and it is Jen, "Do I have time to go to the school and get Madison?". (The sirens are now blowing the tornado warning!) "NO! -I don"t know?" I yelled into the phone and hung up. I then called my 83 year old Mom "Mom get into a closet now!" I then head out the back door in pouring down rain and pea sized hail to my under ground Shelter. I did take the cell phone. I get a call from AJ, who is at work, and tell him I am in the shelter and I am fine. In the shelter it sounds as if a monster is banging on the steel door. After about 10 minutes I hear a Fog Horn sound and know this is the all clear siren. I open the door and find my back yard covered with large Tennis Size hail balls.
About 10 minutes after this episode here comes Jen, who has gone to the school and got Madison. 5 minutes later here comes Cass from High School. I have called my Mom and she is out of the closet and is fine. We are all rattled but okay. We now are in a false state of security. The Storm has come and gone and we are all fine!!! Does that last? NO! The sirens go off again, "take cover" again it told to us over the TV. The 4 of us Girls are out the door to the Shelter. I am now calm because they are safe with me. I again call Mom and say "Go to the closet" and she does. While we are down in the Hole a knock-knock comes on the steel door and it is AJ. He had told the Guys at work he had to get home. He did not want his Wife (ME) alone. I just Love that Man! We let him in and soon the all clear blows again. Now when we get out along with the melting Tennis Ball Size Hail there is Pea Size Haol. The ground is white and very hard to walk on.
I am now loosing my time frame. I do know after AJ got home we went to the shelter 2 more times. This started at 2:30PM and we were not clear of storms and warnings till 6:30 PM.
I am very scared of Tornados and after the "BIG ONE" on May the 3rd we got an under ground Shelter. This has really put my mind at ease some. If there is time for all my Loved Ones to get down in the hole with ME I am very calm. This storm came so fast no one had time to go anywhere, just protect themselves where they were. The Schools took very good care of my Grandaughters till we could get them. Jen had enough sense to not leave the house to get Madison but to find shelter in her bathroom. Mom got the Cat and went to the closet. I went to the Shelter and AJ did what he had to do at work to stay safe. When it was safe we did all come together at my house for protection under ground. Although no Tornados touched down in my Town, the Storm did move North and did have a Tornado touch down and do quite a bit of damage to businesses on Northwest Highway.
I just get a sinking feeling in my stomach when I think of the Spring Months ahead of us. I believe this was just a sample of what is to come. A Trial Run!

Bumps in the Road of Life!

I wonder if I can hang a Bird Feeder, Bird House, or Wind Sock on this?
~~~
~~~
~~~
Can you see His Eyes?
~~~
~~~
~~~

We were told "Never Touch This". Can I dust it?
~~~
~~~
~~~
This has 48 Buttons! You got to be Kidding Me!
~~~
~~~
~~~
Get up in the morning, make coffee, get AJ off to work and turn on the TV. Watch Morning show and set VCR for recording "Lost" while I am watching "Criminal Minds" tonight. Freshen up and run up to "The Uptown Bargain Thrift Store" to check out the new items that have been donated. Hopefully find a treasure to sell on eBay and make a few bucks.
This was my smooth Road I traveled most everyday of my life and I was so very much in a "Comfort Zone" up to 2 days ago.
2 days ago I had a Satellite Dish installed (thanks Government!) and 2 days ago my Uptown Bargain Thrift Store closed down.
OH WOE IS ME!
I no longer set a VCR, that I can do with my eyes closed, now I am trying to conquer a DVR. I have a new remote with so many buttons, I have 200 stations to watch, I have a new contraption under my TV that I was told "never" touch. A UFO now is attached to my roof. It looks as if it has a Little Robot Alien comming out of it.
The Owner of my Thrift Store got into a heated argument with the owner of the building he rented from and they could not settle the disagreement so he just "SHUT the DOORS"! This Store was where I got probably 80% of the items I sell on eBay and it was just a mile away from home. Now I will have to go to OKC to find things.
Boo-Whooooo!
Yes I know these are very miner to some of the problems people endur. But they are "Bumps in My Road". Yes I will learn to operate the DVR and Garage Sales will start up soon so there is a lot of Junk out there just waiting for Me, but as for today I am UPSET and I keep saying
"This to Shall Pass".
I am thankful these are the only "Bumps in My Road". My Loved Ones are all healthy, my bills are paid, food in the cupboard, gas in the car and AJ comes home to Me every night.
Thank You, Jesus!

What goes good with Ice Cream? A Kid!

~~~
I just love it that our 17 year old Grandaughter " Cass" likes hanging with Grams and Gramps.
