Extended Family Pets

The other night AJ had to work late so I decided to take Jen up on her offer to come over for Dinner. She had made Beef Tips & Noodles and I just could not pass them up, with the understanding that a Big Bowl would be sent home to AJ, so I would not have to do some late night cooking. The Beef Tips & Noodles were wonderful...of course they were my recipe, which was my Mom's recipe and was her Moms recipe and I could just keep going. We come from a long list of Great Cooks and thank goodness the Family's Women have all passed the recipes and cooking skills to their Daughters. After dinner,I was thinking, "now I will get to sit down and have a little quiet time and conversation with this Little Family".....
Madison had homework to do....Wade was watching TV.......

Cats lounging quietly. All was peaceful.....until........

Jen let Ethel in.....Ethel is their 1 year old Golden Retriever. Yes, she is beautiful. Yes, she is big, 70 pounds. Yes, she is still a Pup.

Yes, Jen has done a pretty good job of training her.Yes, she does sit and lay down...

This is Ethel's rendition of Dead Dog...she needs a little more pratice.

She also can shake and smile big...she is a Happy Girl. And she is the happiest when she is..... being a Lap Dog!

There are more Little Critters in this Home, like Annie. Annie is down to 7 lives. She got out once and ran away from home, to the woods, for about 2 months, more or less. A neighbor Lady found her and she was skin & bones. That's one life. Then she swallowed a piece of string that had gotten intangled around her tongue and down into her intestines and caused an infection. She was very close to death. That's two lives.

Then there is Alfie. He is a Big Boy about 13 pounds or so. Jen & Wade got him at 1 day old. Mom just deserted him in a garage. He was hand bottle fed around the clock and he thrived. He doesn't know he is a Cat and no one is going to tell him he is, so, shhhhhhh.

Then there is Teddy....Ted is kind of dumb, but oh so Loveable!

There is also Andy another Cat that doesn't like his picture taken, Tillie a guinea pig, and a tank full of fish.......and believe it or not, Madison names them :o)

Then last but not at all least, there is "The Matriarch" Hillery. Hill is old and out of respect to the Old Gal I will not give her age. I will tell you she was born a solid Black Lab.

Like all of us the gray has happened and she is showing her age. She has arthritis, over weight, her hearing is bad and the bladder is failing. Jen took her to the Vet and they said she was still doing pretty good for her age. Jen babies her quite a bit. For Breakfast Jen and Hillery like snacking on dounuts. What ever Hill wants Hill gets at this age!

After the picture taking I came home and my Puppies, Jack & Marley sniffed me for a good 5 minutes. I do not know if they were smelling Jen's Pets or AJ's Beef Tips & Noodles I had brought home!
