Dreary Week-end, What to do? Eat and ride!

Saturday was a rainy/dreary day and AJ & ME got nothing accomplished. In fact I don't think we left the house at all. Sunday was not much better. But out of the blue AJ said "get around, we are going to the Chuck House for lunch". In about 30 minutes we were in the Van headed for the Chuck House. This is a small Mom & Pop restaurant that has survived the Big Chain Restaurants. There logo is "HOME OF THE BEST CHICKEN FRY IN THE UNIVERSE" and believe ME that is not an under-statement!

This is not at all a fancy joint...it is clean...and very affordable.

My gosh AJ! You would have thought he hadn't ate in a week.

You walk in and seat yourself. The tables are wood with all kinds of local ads on top and then a laminate over them.

Each booth and table has menus and a phone. No waitress. Decide what you want...pick up the phone...and order.

AJ's bestest Friend Edward lives out of state. Chuck House is one of Ed's favorite places to eat when he is in town, so AJ decided to give him a quick call and rub a little salt in the wound, by telling Ed where we were eating lunch!

Soon the phone at the booth rings and you know your order is ready. You just trot yourself up to the counter and pay and pick up the order....

and carry it back to the booth....no waitress.

AJ gets the Chicken Fry with French Fries...I get a Fried Chicken Breast with Mashed Potatos and 2 sides of gravy. You get Texas Toast and it is so good with Honey. Chicken Fry Dinner is $8.00 and Chicken Breast Dinner is $7.00, this is very worth the money.

AJ eats his intire meal, but half of mine is in a To-Go Box. I will eat the other half for lunch tomorrow.

Now there is a Happy/Full Man!

On the way home I started taking random pictures. This says "Cafe" and I do think you can get a Hamburger & Fries and a Beer. But you can also get you fill of Naked Ladies!!!!! Yap a Strip Joint. I was in there once about 35 years ago. Not impressed. (this is not in Our Town)

This too is a Joint that has been around for along-long time. Again, in there once years ago and again, not impressed! (this is not in Our Town)

Interesting restaurant...I do not even know how to say the name...but they do have American-Chinese-Vietnamese Foods, That covers quite a few people :o) (this is not in Our Town)

Well how convenient for the BALUU Asian Restaurant just up the street. This is L&H Bean Sprout Comapany. They distribute Bean Sprouts to Grocery Stores and Restaurants all over. If you like Asian Food, you may have at one time or other ate a L&H Bean Sprout.

Unique.....and Old. (but not in Our Town)

(Now starts Our Town)

This is our New High School (multi Millions) AJ calls it the High School University! Believe ME it is so big I couldn't get it all in the picture. Hope these young kids use this place wisely!

7/11 is my Convenient Store of Choice. Gas is up to $3.57 and rising. There is a 7/11 on every corner it seems like.....

and here was a vacant corner so you know what's going up? Read the sign!

Everyone is sneezing around these parts and this is one reason....weeds and pollen. Fields and yards full of beautiful purple weeds!

This is sad but yet funny. Some one decided about 8-10 years ago to build a man made Lake and have beautiful homes around it. Great idea! But only 3 homes were ever built. DUH, what's the problem?

We did in Our Town get a New Little Ceasars Pizza. Our old one was just a little hole in the wall, now it is Up-town, it's own building and a Drive-through...very nice.

This is a beautiful building. It has neon lights and at night it just glows. Much to nice to be a Body Shop and Wrecker Service? Not at all.

Our Town is getting facelifts here and there. This little shopping center is hopping with a little improvement it may get some new businesses. Can you see ME in this picture?

This is Our Town's Main Street, also Route 66. You would never know if you were just going through this Main Street of Our Town, that just a mile away is a booming city near the Interstate Highway.

We have 3 McDonald's in Our Town. This was the first one built on Main Steet. I loved it, but you know McDonald's...more money then brains. They tore down a perfectly nice building and are building a New McDonald's in the same place. I bet the Burgers and Fries will taste just the same!

As you continue down Main Street you will see on the right side we do have a Beauty College.

We also have a Train Track that runs through Our Town.

Our City Hall (that you can not fight, I tried and lost) with a Clock Tower.

The Electric Company sent a Crew out and cut trees back away from the wires all over town. Why did the City ever plant this tree there? Now we have a very embarassed Tree to look at all summer.

AJ & ME live a few blocks from the Fire Station so you never know when a Fire Truck may pull out in front of you. Why aren't Fire Trucks Red anymore?

This used to be a School, but now it is Our Town's Museum and we have a small Actors Guild "Stage Door" that puts on shows here.

No one should ever go with out food in Our Town. We have this Food Pantry and it will help anyone, no questions asked.

AJ & ME live in the older part of Our Town. If you want a small little bungalow with a white picket fence, you can find it in this area of town.

Or if you want a real challenge, there are some Fixer-Uppers.

This is the oldest home in Our Town. It even has a name "The White House"...how catchy!

Well that's it. This is what AJ & ME do on a dreary Sunday. Eat and take a ride and take random Who Cares? Pictures. Yes and when we got home we Napped!
