What are you selling on eBay this Christmas Season? Glad You Asked!

I have been selling on eBay for 7 years. I discovered Christmas is the most fun to peddle my Goods. I shop Sales and Thrift Store all summer long for Christmas Items. Shopping for eBay Christmas Items to sell is really fun. You can buy Christmas items really cheap in July! I have found alot of people tire of their Christmas Decor quickly and when they have a summer Yard Sale the prices are really cheap and I take advantage of that. Of course I have to store all this Christmas Stuff until about the end of Oct and then I have to list like crazy to get it all on by the middle of December. These are just a handful of the items I have sold this Holiday Season.

This is a Mr. Christmas 1996 Lighthouse Cristmas Tree topper. The becon goes around, flashing red & green lights and Santa and the Reindeer revolve around the Lighthouse
This is a solid Brass Taper Candle Holder of Santa in his sleigh and Reindeer.
This is a mint set of 6 INTERPUR Christmas Candles (made in the 1960's)
This is a stuffed Tigger. He stands 18" tall and sings Deck the Halls.
A Beautiful set of Victorian Style Caroler Family.
A Jolly Santa Elf climbing a ladder.
 Funky Shoes and Purse Ornaments
Hallmark Set of Nut or Candy dishes.
A Victorian Style Christmas Stocking. I sold this in White, Hot Pink and Turquoise.
Corney! but people love Handcrafted Chrisrmas Items.
Cute Salt and Pepper Shaker set by the MAX & LUCY Collection.
A Mini Christmas Tree Topper or and ornament.
 Japan Ceramic Angels
 Vintage 1960's Elves
A large Santa Head Christmas Tree topper or an ornament for a Giant Tree
A New Dillards Feather Butterfly Garland for a Feather Christmas Tree.
1950's to 60's Christmas Tree Toppers.
This was a set of 6 Department 56 Place Card Holders. This is a Crow riding a Christmas Bulb. The lady that purchased these from me had the last name "Crow"... very fitting. ♥
These were 1965 Annalee Mice Dolls.
A Enamel over metal Partridge sitting on a Pear Fob.
These were the assortment of Stockings I sold this year. My best seller was the Red Plaid one with Faux Fur and Buckels. I think I sold 6 of that style.
This is Old. It was called The Alpine Village. Lights go in the back so the Little Buildings Light up.

This is a 1989 Bucilla Christmas Felt Stocking Sewing Kit. Way to much work for ME.

Well that was just a sampling of things I have sold this year on eBay. Right now I have 20 items listed and still have at least 1/2 that amount to list this week. Then maybe I will get a break.
I want to Thank My Sweet Hubby "AJ" for putting up with all the mess and clutter this job/hobby brings into our home.♥♥♥♥

The 12 Days of Christmas...what really happened!

The Twelve Days of Christmas
What Really Happened...
(Sanitized for your protection)

On the first day of Christmas...
                             Miss Agnes McHolstein
                             69 Cash Avenue
                             Beaver Valley, Colorado

                             December 14, 1994

Dearest John:

I went to the door today and the postman delivered
a partridge in a pear tree. What a thoroughly
delightful gift. I couldn't have been more
surprised.

                    With deepest love and devotion,

                    Agnes

On the second day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 15, 1994

Dearest John:

Today the postman brought your very sweet gift.
Just imagine two turtle doves. I'm just delighted
at your very thoughtful gift. They are just
adorable.

                            All my love,

                            Agnes

On the third day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 16, 1994

Dearest John:

Oh! Aren't you the extravagant one. Now I really
must protest. I don't deserve such generosity,
Three French hens. They are just darling but I must
insist, you've been too kind.

                            Love,

                            Agnes

On the fourth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 17, 1994

Dear John,

Today the postman delivered 4 calling birds. Now
really, they are beautiful but don't you think
enough is enough. You're being too romantic.

                            Affectionately,

                            Agnes

On the fifth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 18, 1994

Dearest John:

What a surprise. Today the postman delivered 5
golden rings; one for every finger. You're just
impossible, but I love it. Frankly, all those birds
squawking were beginning to get on my nerves.

                            All my love,

                            Anges

On the sixth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 19, 1994

Dear John:

When I opened the door there were actually 6 geese
a-laying on my front steps. So, you're back to
the birds again, huh? Those geese are huge. Where
will I ever keep them? The neighbors are
complaining and I can't sleep through the racket.

Please stop.

                            Cordially,

                            Agnes

On the seventh day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 20, 1994

John:

What's with you and those crazy birds? 7 swans
a-swimming. What kind of terrible joke is this?
There's bird shit all over the house, and they
never stop with the racket. I can't sleep at
night and I'm a nervous wreck. It's not funny.
So stop sending me all these birds!

                            Sincerely,

                             Agnes

On the eighth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 21, 1994

O.K. Buster:

I think I prefer the birds. What am I going to do
with 8 maids a-milking? It's not enough with all
those birds and 8 maids a-milking, but they had to
bring their cows! There is crap all over the lawn
and I can't move in my own house. Just lay off me,
smart ass.

                            Agnes

On the ninth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 22, 1994

Hey! Shithead,

What are you? Some kind of sadist? Now there's 9
pipers playing. And boy, do they play. They've
never stopped chasing those maids since they got
here yesterday morning. The cows are getting upset,
and they're stepping all over those screeching
birds. What am I going to do? The neighbors have
started a petition to evict me.

                            You'll get yours,

                            Agnes

On the tenth day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 23, 1994

You Rotten Sadist,

Now there's 10 ladies dancing. I don't know why I
call those sluts ladies. They've been messing with
those pipers all night long. Now the cows can't
sleep and they've got the diarrhea. My living
room is a river of shit. The Commissioner of
Buildings has subpoenaed me to give cause why this
building shouldn't be condemned.

I'm sicking the police on you.

                            One who means it.

On the eleventh day of Christmas...
                            Miss Agnes McHolstein
                            69 Cash Avenue
                            Beaver Valley, Colorado

                            December 24, 1994

Listen! Looser,

What's with the 11 lords a-leaping on those maids
and ladies. Some of those broads will never walk
again. Those pipers ran through the maids and
have been chasing the cows. All
23 of the birds are dead. They've been trampled
to death in the orgy. I hope you're satisfied,
you rotten, vicious swine.

                            Your sworn enemy,

                            Agnes

On the twelfth day of Christmas...
                          Law Offices
                          Badger, Bender and Cahole
                          303 Knave Street
                          Chicago, Illinois

                          December 25, 1994

Dear Sir:

This is to acknowledge your latest gift of 12
fiddlers fiddling which you have seen fit to

at Happy Dale Sanitarium, the attendants have

                          Cordially,

                          Badger, Bender and Cahole

ALZHEIMER'S & DEMENTIA a never ending Battle

I have mentioned several times how pleased I am with the Nursing Home my Mom is in. The staff there is awesome! The home is  squeeky clean, cheerful and funky decor and the food is great!
I could not ask for a better place to have my Mom living the last days of her life. The only real problem I have encountered is not with the Home or the Staff, but with the Home's Doctor. I have felt for awhile Mom was on to many Drugs. I finally met with the Doctor face to face and ask if maybe we could cut back on the drugs or change them. He very quickly let me know he was the "Professional" and if I was not going to let him doctor her the way he wanted, he did not have to be her Doctor. I took this as a threat. I do not know where I would get another Doctor to treat my Mom at the nursing home. I would have to take her out of the Nursing Home and into a Doctor's office to be treated or seen. She does not walk and she wear depends. It would be very hard to transport her to and from a Dr Office....for her and for ME. Feeling my hands were tied I sought out help. I was told of  Geriatric Diagnostic Center that would take my Mom and work with her and to get her on Drugs that would agree with her. So AJ and ME took her about 2 hours away from our town to Rolling Hills, a Private Psychiatric Hospital that has a Geriatric Diagnostic Center.

Here she will see a Doctor that specializes in Seniors with Dementia and ALZ.

The Hospital was about medium size. The grounds were very nice and well kept.
Mom made the 2 hour trip very well. She was awake about the first hour and slept the last hour. She was in a good mood when we got to the Hospital and let the nurse take all her vitals with no complaints.

I tried to explain to her where she was and that I would have to leave and not see her for a few days. I do not think she understood. She had been calling ME Mom all day. But when they wheeled her out she was smiling. I have since called twice and talked to her nurses and they say she is doing fine. She still is not eating well and still getting her tube feedings. They have taken her off the meds I was so anxious to get her off of. They are trying something new. I did talk to her today for a short time and she is still very much in the grips of Dementia & ALZ, this will never go away and only get worse. Her voice did seem a little stronger and she knew she was watching the Okla Football game on TV. Mom will be at this Hospital at least 2 weeks and maybe longer. I am not looking for the Magic Pill that will make everything better....it does not exist. I would just like my Mom to have the best days possible, for her, in this Season of her life.

MMMM-Good MMMM-Good Campbell's Sun-Ripened Yellow Tomato Soup ♥

Here comes Winter.
It is time for ME to stock up on Canned Soups. I really like to have Soups in the pantry for when you just need a Warm Comfort fast light meal. The Chunky Soups and a sandwich are perfect for AJ's lunches. Double Noodle Chicken Noodle is a favorite after school snack for Madison. And I crave a bowl of Tomato Soup and a Grill Cheese when the snow starts to fall. Every pantry should have the basic Cream of Mushroom, Chicken, Celery and Cheese Soups for those winter oven Casseroles.
I am a coupon clipper and I love finding coupons for New Items on the shelves. You feel pretty good about trying something New if you are getting 50 cents off of the product. Well I had a coupon for a New Campbell's Soup...

Sun-Ripened Yellow Tomato. I love the "Regular Campbell's Tomato", but thought "what the hey, I will give you a try".
I did like the convenience of the pop-top lid and that the can is Recyciable.
The color of the Yellow Tomato Soup was just that...Yellow.
The instructions say to add one can of Water, but since I always make the Regualar Campbell's Soup with milk, because I like it Creamy, I used milk in this Yellow Tomato Soup also.
So far I like what I see and smell as I am warming it up on the stove top.
Now comes the Truth... the taste test. I add salt & pepper and a dab of butter. A slice of bread and some Whole Wheat Crackers. Hoping I have just not wasted my time and money on something I am going to feed to the trash, I taste the soup. Ummm not bad, ummm pretty good, hey I LIKE IT! I eat the bowl in front of ME and go and pour the rest from the sauce pan into the bowl and eat it. YES! it is good great!
Yesterday Madison and I went to the store and I bought 4 more cans with no coupon, paid full price and didn't blink an eye, it is that good. I am sure this soup is Seasonal for the Fall, so if you see this Yellow Tomato Soup you might want to pick one can up, it could be gone in a wink!

Speaking of tomatoes. If you have a Red Eared Slider Turtle as a Pet (like I do), a tomato diced small is a great healthy Treat for him or her.

FUN da-middles Versus Hostess Cup Cakes

I have been seeing this mix on the store shelves most of this past summer. I love novelty Cake Mixes. They come and go pretty quick. I  found a coupon in the Sunday Paper for $1.00 off a box of these Fun da-middles. And soon after, they went on sale in my favorite Grocery Store. So how could I resist not picking these up and giving them a try. They come in Delvil's Food and also Yellow Cake. I choose the chocolate. They made me think of the Hostess Cup Cakes.
The ingreidents needed were simple: 2 eggs, water and oil.
Toss everything in a mixing bowl.......
and beat for 2 1/2 minutes.
This box will make 12 regular size cup cakes, but I choose to make 6 Jumbo cup cakes. Jen got ME 2 of these Jumbo Cup Cake/Muffin tins for Christmas last year and I love them. The brand is "The Main Ingriedents" and you can purchase these at Dillards. They are Champagne colored nonstick carbon steel. They have silicone handles that do not get hot in the oven. The Jumbo Cup Cake paper cups are made by Willton.
Instructions on the box say to fill the cups 1/3 full. You then knead this little white bag of filling 20 times and cut the corner and squeeze it out evenly over the batter.
You then take the remaining batter and cover up the filling. Then you bake.....
25 minutes and this is what you get!
While the Cup Cakes were baking I made the frosting. I put a little white in a baggie before I added the chocolate.
Because these are a very dark Devil's Food I choose to make a Milk Chocolate using melted Hershey Milk Chocolate candy bars. One little tip I learned  years ago when I took Cake Decorating Classes was to use a stainless steel off set spatula when decorating cakes or cup cakes. That little bend in the spatula make a world of difference.
Well these Little Cakes look pretty good just the way they are, but I felt they were a little naked and since they reminded me of Hostess Cup Cakes.....
I put a squiggle on top with the white frosting I had saved in the baggie. I cut a hole in the corner of the bag and drew on the squiggles.
Now they really look alot like a Hostess Cup Cake. But how do they taste?

Hey they aren't to bad. The filling is like Marshmallow Cream.
If I had a Fun da-middles and a Hostess Cup Cake in front of ME, which one would I choose to eat with a glass of milk?
Hands Down...the Hostess Cup Cake. Some things you just can't duplicate!

Sometimes you get what you ask for...A JONES FRACTURE!

One of the greatest fears of Seniors is falling. That is why we put up hand rails in bath rooms by the toilets, bath tubs and showers. Shower chairs to sit on when we bathe. Hand rails on porch steps. We go up and down stairs slower and more sure footed. We Seniors tend to have less throw rugs to trip on in our rooms. We slow down our walking, to a safe gait. Some purchase the "I FELL DOWN AND CAN"T GET UP" bracelets. We also ask our loved ones to call us regularly if we are "home alone". I myself have done most of these thing in the past decade. I have "gone down" a couple of times but never had any injuries. Well my "Luck" ran out the evening of Oct 4, 2012. I went out on the back porch to get in the dumpster that sits right next to the porch landing. I think I got to close to the first step down and slid off, loosing my balance, falling down the steps onto the cement block patio on my left side. Thank Goodness AJ was in the back yard and heard ME yell. I laid there for a few minutes before sitting up. I had not hit my head, my left shoulder hurt some, my left wrist and palm hurt pretty bad and my left foot would not hold any weight at all. Do you need 911 he ask, no I said just call Jen...which he did. With her help, they got ME in the house and in a chair. She wanted ME to go to ER but I said no, and that I would go to my family Doc the very first thing in the morning, which I did. AJ took off the day from work to get me into the Doc. After a series of x-rays we found out the wrist was a sprain and the foot was broken. It is broke at the 5th Metatarsal Bone of the foot and is called a Jones Fracture. This fracture can happen to dancers, women     wearing clunkey shoes and falling off the side of them, and of course is very popular with athletes that do any kind of running. I was told it is a hard fracture to heal since there is little blood flow to that area of the foot. Family Doc is setting ME up an appointment to see a Specialist early next week. He will make the desision on a cast, boot or maybe even surgery (UGH). I will have to be off of it completly for 8 weeks, no body weight at all, said my Family Doc (UGH again!). My Mom has a Hoveround Scooter that is sitting dormant and I plan to use that here in the house. Below are a couple of pictures of a Jones Fracture. My x-ray looked just like this. Looking at that little break, you would not think it was so bad.....but trust ME..it brings your mobility to a BIG STOP!

I am at day 2 and I really am Fit- to- be- tied! AJ has been wonderful. No complaints...but I feel so useless. We have always shared household chores and now AJ is doing 99% of the things that need to be done on a daily basis. He will be doing chores I, under regular circumstances, I would never let him do. This I am sure will be a Test to see just how much we can tollerate each other for the next 2 months, him giving and ME taking.
I have been a little overwelmed this past summer. My Mom being very sick and in the hospital for awhile, working with the nursing home trying to keep her off of Psych Drugs, repairing her home so it can be sold, my legs have hurt and weaken the past few months and I had to have tests done for blockage (there was none :o)...) trying to support Jen in her ventures, tending daily to my Beloved Madison through the summer (which is almost 100% a joy), putting up with this OK heat day after day and then there is also my eBay that takes up alot of my time ( that has almost turned into a job and not just a fun hobby). I found myself saying "I NEED A BREAK! quite often. Well this should teach ME that sometimes you get just what you ask for!
