Creamy Grape Salad/Dessert
I posted this recipe on Facebook....but also wanted to share with the world, not just my Friends. It is so good and so easy to make. You can use low fat sour cream, light cool whip, splenda, and reduced fat cream cheese and it would work for the dieters. You could also use other fruits in it like crisp apples, raisins or fresh cherries. I would not recommend any fruit that is juicy or might turn brown. You can also add a 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. I also advise you to let this sit covered in the fridge 3 hours or more...but you can snitch a grape now and then 😃
The first thing to do is sit your cream cheese out to get room temp and thaw your cool whip in the fridge. Also destem your grapes, rinse clean and drain in a colander.
Beat the softened cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with an electric beater for about a good 2 minutes. If you have a whisk attachment it works good, if not just use your beaters.
Next add your sour cream and again beat about 2 minutes.
Now add your unfrozen cool whip and on low speed electric mixer stir it in about 30 seconds.
I then scrap the sides of the bowl and stir a few times with my spatula.
Now towel dry your grapes...
......and add them to your creamy mixture. Fold the grapes into the creamy mixture with a spatula.
Scrape the sides of the bowl......
....and cover. Put in fridge at the least 3 hours...longer is better.
This is the recipe I shared on Facebook....but this batch I made I used 2 1/2 pounds of grapes. This recipe could easily be doubled for a larger crowd. This is good for 4 or 5 people, and that of course depends of course if you do not want left overs 😕
