An Afternoon with...Snow White & the Huntsman..

It is a dreary, rainy summer afternoon. What do 2 bored Gals do? Head to the Cinema to see the very talked about Movie:

Snow White and the Huntsman, staring Kristen Stewart as Snow White, Charlize Theron as the Wicked Queen/Stepmother of Snow White and Chris Hemsworth as the Huntsman. Oh I guess I forgot to mention the bored gals are Madison & ME.

When we get to the Cinema for the afternoon matinee, the parking lot is empty. We park right up close to the front door with no hassel since we are the only car there.

We are greeted by some of the characthers in the new movie "BRAVE".

This looks like a really cute movie, but, I like movies where real blood is flowing through the veins of the stars.

We get our Pop Corn and head into the theater. The lights are out and we can not see much so we are groping around in the dark finding our way to the top. I like to sit in the very top row, the farthest from the screen. We finally get seated and within a few minutes our eyes have adjusted to the dark and we can see....and what do we see? We are the only 2 people there. The show is just about ready to start and we are having a Private Showing of Snow White and the Huntsman....how cool is that!

Soon the show starts and 3 people trickle in and then 1 more. Now there is 6 people viewing this show. No one else ever comes.

This is Charlize Theron, the Wicked Queen....

she was beautiful.

This is Kristen Stewart, Snow White, that was cast out into the Dark Forest by the Wicked Queen, because she was "The Fairest of them All" said the Magic Mirror.

This is Chris Hemsworth, The Huntsman. He was hired by the Wicked Queen to kill Snow White and bring back her heart.

This Guy is a Troll that lived under a bridge.

This movie is the Dark Side of the Snow White...nothing like the Fairy Tale we all know and love.

There were some Dwarfs in the story. A little bit of True Trivia: The Dwarfs in the movie were not Little People casted as Dwarfts, but normal sized men. Pixar shrunk the normal size men to look like Dwarfs using digital maniputation and cinematographic tricks. The community of Little People Actors were very much upset with Pixar's decison to not use Little People as the Dwarfs.

Finally after The Huntsman has chased Snow White all through the Dark Forest trying to kill her and take her heart back to the Wicked Queen, he finally catches her and can not kill the Beauty. He then helps her to saftey to the Bright Side of the Forest. He becomes her protector and mentor in the quest of stopping the Wicked Queen.

The Queen is furious the Huntsman has betrayed her and  disguises herself and feeds Snow White a Poison Apple. Snow White falls int o a deep death-like sleep....

Only to awakened by her True Loves Kiss....

which turns out to be """" The Huntsman"""

Snow White awakens from the kiss. Her and the Huntsman go back to the Castle to get rid of the Wicked Queen, and to save and free the people of the hamlet.

The Magic Mirror tells the Queen Snow White is comming back and the Queen.......

readies herself for battle with Snow White.

They have a very grueling, exhusting battle and......

of course Snow White wins.

The movie ends with her being Crowned Queen and leaving us hoping the Huntsman will be her King ♥

Madison and I leave the movie. It has stopped raining and we have a 1/2 a Bag of Pop Corn to give Grampy (AJ).

I love making Memmories with my Beloved Granddaughter!

Kitty Missing?......Who ya gona call ?.......Cat Busters Rescue!!!!!

This all started a few days ago when one of Jen's Cats, Andy, went missing. They futility searched the house, yard and neighborhood. Hoping he would just come home, 2 days pass. No Andy. That evening Jen is sitting in the living room alone, no noise and she hears Andy cry "Mew". She looks outside and all over and no Andy. She wakes Wade and he hears the cries. He in turn searches. He goes up stairs to the attic area where they are building on and is under construction, and searches. No Andy. They call the Police and the Animal Controll. They search to no avail and end up leaving with a Live Trap set with food in it, in hopes, Andy will inter and get trapped. The next day no luck with the trap and again they hear Andy's mews.  Jen feels the mews are coming from inside the fireplace. But the fireplace and chimney had been checked. Now it is Saturday night and they are leaving to go on their Cruise in the morning. We are all distraught about this cat not being found before they leave on vacation. AJ & ME were talking about the situation and we decided we were going over to Jen's and "find that Cat"! AJ & Wade hit the attic and I tell Jen to look on the roof to see if maybe by some chance he was up there and could not get down. As she is outside she hears him mew and for some reason looks in the hole on the Patio that is the fireplace vent.....Low & Behold there is Andy! That Little Guy had got into the attic and fell down between the walls and was behind the fireplace.

 

 AJ went home and got some tools and started to enlarge the hole so we could rescue Andy.

He cut away some of the mortor between the bricks. And chisled, and pounded removing some of the bricks.

He worked on this quite a long while, untill the hole was big enough for Andy to come out or for an arm to be put in and Andy drug out. Well because of all the noise from the electric tool Andy was very scared and went to back corner where we could not reach him. Jen talked to him and put water and food inside and he would not budge from the corner. Again Jen call the Police and Animal controll and they had no luck getting Andy either. So we just ended up putting a dog crate in front of the hole on the Patio. If Andy came out of the hole during the night he could not run off, he would be inside the wire crate.

Well the timeline is now Sunday morning around 8:00. They are catching a plane at 12:00 to start the trek to Miami FL. to board the ship. The phone rings and it is Wade....the cat is still behind the firplace. He had never ventured out through the hole into the crate, during the night. Wade and AJ had talked the night before about Wade being lowered from the attic, down between the brick outside wall and the inside wall, behind the fireplace to where Andy was. So that was the plan. Up they went into the attic armed with a long heavy rope, a flashlight and a pillowcase. AJ then held the rope while Wade went down it. If you look right under the wood beam, you can see AJ holding the taught rope and bracing himself while Wade goes down. This young Man had alot of faith in his 65 year old Father-in-law. Jen's house has high Cathedral Ceilings. It would have been quite a drop if AJ had lost his grip.

Once Wade was safely down AJ held the light and Wade found Andy. He put the missing Feline in the pillow case.

AJ then got down over the hole in the attic......

    and Andy was hoisted up. AJ then gave the Bagged Cat to ME and I carried it down stairs to Jen. At this point I had left Ground Zero, so I do not have documentation of Wade climbing back up the rope. But he made it up unscathed.

I took the knotted pillow case with Andy inside down to Jen. She talked softly to Andy the whole time she untied the case. He was very still.

He peek out ever so cautiously, like he was saying and now were am I? He did not run wild, he just walked over to the door that was shut....



 that hold his food, water and Litter box. Jen opened it and he ran right to a spot that he Cat Naps in during the day. Andy was safe so now the Kids could all clean up, so they could be on the road, to the airport,  to get checked in by 10:30.

Well as you can see by all the Happy Smiles they made it to the Plane on time.

CELEBRATION OF LIFE

Have you ever been using something for along time and all of a sudden it gets improved? Well that is what has happened to Blogger, my Blog Site. It is now New and Improved and I am having a little difficulty posting. My pictures are not going in the right places. So my story will be a little out of context. Just bear with ME and I hope you enjoy this Post. This was a Special Day for AJ. This was a Day Of Celebration!

What you see below is not the the beginning of the Day, but actually the end. What you see is a Chrysalis, the shell that holds a Butterfly in the last stage of metamorphosis.

This is part of a Program that was given out at the Celebration. There is one name I would like to point out: SHERMAN ANDRUS, survivor, Grammy Award winning singer.

This Celebration of Life was held and hosted by Integris Cancer Institute of Oklahoma.

Integris Cancer Institute is the only hospital that has ProCure, the Proton Therapy Center.

This 25th Annual Cancer Survivors Day was held Sunday, June 3, 2012.

AJ attened this as a Guest of Sherman's. Sherman is a Cancer Survivor. AJ's Mother was a Cancer Survivor along with his Sister Carolyn, and a lifelong friend Edward. AJ lost a dear friend, Larry, that was a Brother Figure to him. Larry fought a long hard battle against cancer, but lost.

There were Guest speakers, they recognized all the Survivors, a lunchen and entertainment.

One of the entertainers was our Sherman.

 

One of the songs Sherman sang at the Celebration was "You are so Beautiful".  AJ helped him with the back up music. I got to hear a little of him trying out the music in my kitchen. Here is just a sample of Sherman.

Also after the Celebration Program was over everyone got a Little Pyrimid Box tied up with a Silver Cord. To see what is in the box click on the second video, same kind of little arrow in the left corner.

Dance Ballerina, Dance ♥

If we are Blessed with a Baby Girl, something deep inside a Mommy wants that Little Girl to Dance. We buy them Girly Ballerina Toys....

 Little socks, shoes or Tutus that mock Ballerina Clothes.

As they get older we hope they want Ballerina Dolls....because we do!

Our unspoken dream is to one day see them on stage and on Point.

 

Do we want them to become Prima Ballerinas....not really. We hope they become what ever they want to be....Doctors, Lawyers, CPAs, Vets, Nurses, Teachers, The President, CEOs, or just a Wife & Mommy.

From the day Madison was born and I saw her in her Little Pink, Ruffled & Lace Dress she wore at 1 day old, my Dream, as her Mimi, was for her be a Ballerina ♥





Well I got my Dream. Her Mommy started her in Ballet at age 2. She has been taking Dance for 10 years.

I think she is a Real Ballerina at age 12.

AJ & ME went to her Spring recital, this is the 10th recital we have attended. She looked, acted and danced like a Real Ballerina.

She has come so far. Next year at her recital she will be on Point, wearing real Ballet Toe Shoes.



Will Madison become a Prima Ballerina?..... No. But she will have all the memories of being a Ballerina.

Dance has taught Madison poise, the ablity to be on stage in front of lots of people, self esteem, how to work with a group of girls, and she has had the chance to wear Ballerina Clothes and that is something most Little Girls Love.

 

She started at 2 years old.   

   She has come along way.
