Take ME out to the Fair!

Thursday Evening AJ says to ME
"Let's go to the Fair"
"Okay" I say, "but you can not go to the
Fair without a KID".
So AJ, ME and Madison headed to
the County Fair

The first thing we saw as we entered
the Fair was AJ's favorite...
The Merry-Go-Round
The colors, the music and the smells
put you immediately in a
nostalgic Child-Like mood.
Even AJ could not resist the Carousel
Madison loved the FUN SLIDE.
We then went inside some of the bulidings
where they were doing some judging.
Here we saw Chickens....
Black Chickens
and Brown Chickens....
Some Chickens having a
Bad Hair Day!
and Roosters crowing!
There was Geese...
and Ducks....
and a Turkey.
There were Hereford Cows....

and Black Angus....
and a Baby Jersey Calf.
We looked at Sheep with their
Summer Burr Haircuts.
Some looked like Nurses going into
surgery.
Some looked like Surgeons.
There were Goats in pens...and Goats trying to escape
from pens.
Our noses wouldn't let us miss
the Pigs, Sows and
Hogs.
Someone's Garden did better then mine!
After walking around and looking at
the Farm Animals we headed for the
Midway.
Here you could find
FOOTLONG HOTDOGS.....
COLD DRINKS.....
and GOOD EATS!
Madison got a Caricature Picture
drawn of her.
There was a Talent Show.
The Sun has now gone down and
Madison has school the next day,
so it is time to wrap it up.
So the last Hooo-rah of the evening
was...
Madison & Grampy (AJ) on the
Bumper Cars.
And did they have fun?
Well by the looks of it....
I think...
they did.
AJ...... "Madison what did you like the best at the Fair?
Madison......"Oh Grampy I liked it all, but I really liked
the FUN SLIDE".
Madison......"Grampy, what did you like best at the Fair?'
AJ......." Well lets see. I like the Footlong Hotdog,
the Popcorn, the Nachos.....wish I had gotten some
Cotton Candy and maybe a Funnel Cake......."

3 Hour Vacation...Part 3..History

The Lake
Almost home, we decided to make one
more stop. We stopped at
Lake Overholser Dam.
We had passed this Dam many
times but had never stopped and
explored it. Here is a little of what
we saw.

Opposite side of the Lake, where the water is held
back by the dam. You can see guys below
fishing.

I zoomed in on them.

It is so hard to believe this is the South side
of the Dam....
and just a few yards away this in the
North side of the Dam.
These are turned to let the water through.

There were old pictures of when the
Dam was being built.

I think this is where we saw the Guys
fishing?
After this stop we headed home.
A really cheap, short Vacation,
but it was fun.
