Mom

Our Mom suffered a heart attack on

Saturday evening, March 26, 2011.

She was not breathing

and her heart had stoped.

She was given CPR and was revived

with one strike of the Defib. paddles.

At ER she was put on a vent-Life Support.

She was 100% dependent on the

life support machine.

Since that time we have spent alot of time

in this room waiting to see her.

She is still dependent on the machines

but is improving some each day. She has her own Nurse with her 24 hours a day.

These next pictures may be a little

difficult to look at.

But her Family thinks they are Beautiful....

because they show LIFE....

Hope...

and improvement.

Right now she show us, she is hearing

by squeezing our hands very lightly....

waking up from a sleep....

Eyes wide open at times....

and by raising her eye brows.

When we visit we talk to her non stop......

and touch, touch, touch her.

She does tend to tire easily....

So we kiss her good-night,

tell her we will see her tomarrow

and lower the lights.

Night Mom.....

Intervention?

I will not go into the "Long Story" of these 2 Men.

But these are pictures, I never in my wildest

dreams, thought I would take or see.

I will tell you the Man in the Blue Jeans is AJ.
He had gone across our street to check out
the New Home being built.
He was soon joined by the Man in the
Gray Sweat Suit.
At first the conversation was at a far.

But soon steps coming closer,
were made by each Man.


They were both giving their opinion
of the new structure, to each other.

They then went into a Friendly chat about

property lines.

This comradery went on for at least
15-20 minutes.

I told AJ when he finally came inside

"I believe this was an Intervention by God"

our area soon. They love Thistle Seed.

Playing with Angels

Today Feb. 17, 2011 was just

Beautiful.

No coats or jackets and AJ & ME even

dug out some shorts.

AJ decided to pull all of his White Homers,

that he has raised and take inventory of

them. Also check them over to be sure

no problems had occured during our bad

Winter Storms we just had.

He started pulling the White Homers out of the loft

and putting them in temporary cages,

so he check each one over.

The Birds all seemed to be in fine conditions.

AJ started breeding these White Homers in 2005.

Madison was just 5 years old. Every time a

White Homer Pigeon was hatched Madison

would name it "ANGEL".

and...That is how AJ came to have a Flock of

"ANGELS"!

So today AJ spent the warm Feburary afternoon

"Playing with Angels"

I told AJ,

"I wished we could rent out

our Angels for Weddings."

I can just see these Beauties

flying against a Blue Sky

with a Wedding Party under them!

Plus AJ & ME could make an extra Buck

to help with the feed.

Feeding our 100 plus Pigeons

get a little costly.

Every year at Christmas AJ says

"all I want for Christmas is some

Bags of Pigeon Seed".

Madison has grown up with her

Grampy's Pigeons and dearly

loves them. Everyday after school,

she eats a snack, does homework

and then is out to the Pigeon Lofts

to check out the Birds until her

Daddy picks her up.

AJ has about 15 Pretty White Homers

and they are all in fine condition.

But look out Angels,

AJ just got 3 Solid Black Racing Homers

and he is going to breed a small flock

of them.

They to are very striking in appearence.

I can't wait to show you our

Black Beauties!

Do not let the warm weather fool you,

our wild birds still need a crumb of bread

and a Bird Bath full of water.

Long Winter Days

Well for a few days this winter we have

been Snowed In.

It is very boring for the 2 legged animals,

and 4 legged animals that live in this house!

There isn't much to do except...

eat....

watch TV....

eat....

listen to music....

eat....

and....

sleep.

These 2 Babies love to curl up on the sofa,

and be covered up and sleep.
They will lay like this all afternoon.

Warm and Toasty.

I really Love these Puppies!

Something fun and kids can help (Julie!).

Paint a Bagel with Peanut Butter,

roll it in Birdseed,

put a cord through the hole,

tie a knot, and hang it outside on a

tree or hook

and watch the Birds have

A Feast!

Life goes on...in the Snow.

Snow or no Snow,

Life goes on.

AJ still has to get out in our

"Frozen Tundra" and tend to

the Pigeons.

Our Puppies know when AJ has chores

to do and they are always there to help.
AJ kind of looks like
"The Grim Reaper"
wondering around in our
Winter Wonderland!

Jack & Marley are also bundled up...

and wait ever so patiently on AJ.

Then the Trio heads out

to feed and water the Birds.

Jack stays on the path...

but Mars loves to get in the snow

and run & play!

The cold and snow does not hinder

this Little Herding Dog!

Think if you were stranded somewhere

with no Food, Water, no Cell Phone

and no car.

That is just how our Little Wild Birds

feel right now.

Fill your feeders or toss out

bread, pop corn, old cereal or

crackers, etc.

In doing this you may also save

a stray little critter!

They will...

Ethel's Play Date with Marley & Jack

One morning after taking Madison to school,

Jen brought Ethel over to have a Play Date

with the Kids...Marley & Jack.

This would be the first time Ethel had ever

been anywhere without her

Mom, Dad or Madison.

Marley & Jack took very well to Ethel

being in their private space,

"the back yard".

Ethel is only 4 months old and she is

already bigger then full grown

Marley & Jack.

They played and played, but of course

when AJ was outside they congregated

around him.

I had put some refreshments (dog kibbles,

dog bones, dehydrated duck and popcorn)

out in a pan on the step. They all took

their turn nibbling and then got a drink of

cold drink water out of the

Big Blue Bucket.

There was alot of Butt Smelling that day.

By late afternoon Ethel, still just a Baby,
was getting tired.
Marley & Jack could have gone on
for a few more hours. But I decided to
bring them in for a rest.

Marley hit the sofa,
Jack took claim on AJ's bed
and Ethel barley got past the back
door's threshold and she slept.....

and slept and slept! All afternoon.
We actually had to walk around her
and she never moved a muscle!
Jen called that evening after Wade
had picked up the Girls,
Madison and Ethel.
Jen said Ethel had told her she had
a Wonderful Day. Ethel said the Kids
were fun to play with, the food was great
and she felt right at home and very loved
by her
Mimi & Grampy, (AKA AJ & ME).

New Year's Eve?

Well, AJ and ME did it again

this New Year's Eve!

Yap!

we ate at the Waffle House.

As we entered the door we were greeted by

Tom & Joe

the founders of the Waffle House in 1955.

They told us

"They couldn't have done it without us".
and that made us feel very welcomed.

The Employees were in New Year's Eve

attire and....
in the New Year's Eve Spirit!

After eating a Gormet Meal of

Eggs, Grits, Hash Browns, Raisen Toast

and the Famous Waffles...we bid everyone

a Happy New Year and God willing we would

be back next year!

We then went to the ajoining "Hampton Inn"

and spent the night in the Honeymoon Suite.

Noooo, we didn't I was just foolin!

AJ told ME to say that!
